Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh situated on the country's southeastern coast of India. The state has the second longest coastline of 972 km (604 mi) among all the states of India, second only to Gujarat. The state is the largest producer of rice in India, and hence, it is nicknamed as The Rice Bowl of India. Ugadi is celebrated as the Telugu New Year. Telugu is the official language of the state. Symbols of Andhra Pradesh: State Dance is Kuchipudi, State Animal is Black Buck, state Bird is Indian Roller, state Flower is Water Lily, state Fruit is Mango, state Tree is Neem, state Sport is Kabbaddi. The state is home to India's Satish Dhawan Space Centre. Lambasingi also called as Lammasingi (1000m above sea level) is a small village in the Andhra Pradesh, is the only place in South India which has snowfall (temperature ranges from 0 °C to 10 °C).

Education status

According to the Census 2011, Andhra Pradesh has a literacy rate of 67.66% (male literacy rate 75.56% and female literacy rate 59.74%).
In Andhra Pradesh schooling from First standard to Tenth standard classes are conducted by the School Education under the administration of the School Education Department and finally the Tenth Class (S.S.C.) Public examination at state level is conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Hyderabad. The two years Intermediate Education after Tenth standard is under the administration of the Board of Intermediate Education, AP (Hyderabad). Schools in Andhra Pradesh are either affiliated to the state board or Central Board of Secondary Education CBSE or ICSE. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has established Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies (RGUKT) in 2008 to cater to the educational needs of the gifted rural youth of Andhra Pradesh. There are many top standard Government aided and unaided (private) schools, colleges and other academic institutions, computer-training institutes, industrial training institutes, polytechnic institutes and other technical training institutes.
