Chandigarh

Chandigarh is a city and a union territory in the northern part of India that serves as the capital of the states of Punjab and Haryana. The city of Chandigarh was the first planned city in India post-independence in 1947 and was known internationally for its architecture and urban design. It also has two gardens of international repute – the Rock Garden of Chandigarh and the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden.

Education Status

According to the Census 2011, Chandigarh has a literacy rate of 86.43% (male literacy rate 90.54% and female literacy rate 81.38%).

Chandigarh have several top standard schools, colleges and other academic institutions, computer-training institutes, industrial training institutes, polytechnic institutes and other technical training institutes. Government and private run hostels provide accommodations to local and outstation students.
